Virtus joined us from the Zöldmáli Kennel at the end of 2020 when she was two years old. Around the house, she’s the sweetest, most gentle dog imaginable – we call her “Playdough” because if she doesn’t want to move, she’s as pliable and immovable as the real thing!
However, on the field, she transforms into an incredible hunting machine. Her hunting style is intense, her nose is exceptional, and she’s remarkably competitive. Despite being my smallest dog at 50 pounds, she keeps pace with every other dog and strives to be the first one to the bird, while always remaining respectful of her hunting companions.
She’s also unique in her retrieving abilities; she’s the only dog I have who will swim across a pond or climb a tree to retrieve a shot bird.
